As a financial planner, I have had the pleasure for over 15 years, of providing advice to families on retirement and other planning issues.
In my experience, however, there is one piece of the planning puzzle that most financial practices overlook. That “piece” is a fully integrated college planning service. And, although many adivsors provide college savings plans… very few offer a complete, specialized service that helps parents and students implement academic and financial aid strategies that can help reduce the high cost of college and a family’s out-of-pocket expenses.
In fact, upon sending their child(ren) to college, every parent believes and expects that their student(s) will graduate. Unfortunately, the *statistics suggest that only 59% will graduate and it will take up to SIX YEARS to do so.
Just like with any other pursuit in life, success with no plan, no guide, and no experience is doubtful. My goal is to provide those elements that allow you to confidently make decisions in all areas of college planning which would otherwise result in higher costs, lost time, and hours of frustration.
My focus on adding college planning at RockCrest Financial is two-fold, encompassing both Academic and Financial Pathways. On the Academic Pathway, I seek to help eliminate “extra years” as I provide you and your student the opportunity to identify the career path, the major and the school that will allow them to flourish both at college and throughout their career.
On the Financial Pathway, it is my objective to minimize “extra costs” through the application of expense-reducing strategies. Additionally, I believe that if you are serious about your financial future, you will immediately recognize the importance of having a year by year financial plan which forecasts the anticipated expense of every year of college, as well as, one that identifies all available resources.
I am now proud to offer parents the ability to access this new service. I feel it is a much needed extension of RockCrest Financial’s existing retirement planning service to clients, because every dollar spent towards college is one less that can be used to help you reach your goals in retirement. I also truly believe that most financial professionals lack an expertise in this area, and often provide advice that may even hurt the financial aid process. With the expertise that RockCrest Financial now offers in college planning, we can help protect an entire family’s financial plan… from helping to potentially reduce the “out-of-pocket” cost of attending college, to making sure parents don’t jeopardize their retirement in the process.
